Using legal municipalities when entering listings

When entering a listing on SmartMLS, you must use the municipality (town) from the property's legal address. It is not permissible to use a village, borough or neighborhood instead of the actual town. Using anything but the legal municipality is a violation of the Fair Housing Act.

In Add/Edit, the only options you will see in the City list are legal municipalities:

You will never see any villages, boroughs or neighborhoods in the City list. You must choose the appropriate legal municipality from the list- no deviations are possible.
