A couple of things to keep in mind before you get started:
- In order to have the option to mark a listing Closed, it first has to be in the Under Contract (UC) status. You cannot go directly from any other status to Closed.
- The listing should be marked Closed in connectMLS within 24 hours of the title passing.
To mark a listing Closed, go to the Add/Edit menu and click Edit Listing Status:
Enter the desired MLS number and click Submit (or use the link to locate the correct listing):
Use the drop-down menu to select Closed:
Enter the Closed Date, Closed Price, Financing Used, Buyer Agent ID and Buyer Office (these are the only required fields on this form- you can populate the other fields as necessary):
The Buyer Agent ID and Buyer Office information fields should retain the information you entered when you marked the listing Under Contract.
Click Save when you're finished.
You will see the following confirmation that your status change was successful:
A note about rental listings: there is no set rule on when the rental listing should be closed out in the MLS. The listing can either be closed when the lease is signed or when the tenant moves in. However, it is important that a rental listing is changed to UC when there is a deal in progress so that other agents are aware of its status.
