We have added a new Collaborative Closing feature to our connectMLS system as an additional way of ensuring the data entered when a listing is marked closed on the MLS is timely, accurate and reliable.
When a SF, CN or MF listing is marked closed in Connect, the Buyer's Agent will receive an email notification that invites them to verify the closing information the List Agent entered:
There will also be a message in the Listing Alerts tab of the Bulletins/Updates widget (in the upper left corner of the Connect home page) informing the Buyer's Agent that a transaction they are involved in has been marked closed:
*** Note: the Collaborative Closing feature is optional. If you have already reviewed the listing after it has been marked closed and everything has been recorded correctly, you do not need to do anything. You can ignore the alert in the Bulletins/Updates widget. The alert disappears after 30 days. ***
There is a 30-day window after the listing is marked closed in the MLS during which the List and Buyer's Agents are allowed to make changes to the sales data. After 30 days, the listing's closing information will no longer be editable.
The due date at the end of the alert that informs you when the 30-day window to make changes to the listing's closing information expires. The listing alert remains in the Bulletins/Updates widget for the entire 30 days, even if you have already gone in and made changes to the sales data. It remains in the widget to continue providing easy access if you need to make additional updates.
Clicking the address immediately opens the Edit Listing Status form. The Buyer's Agent is authorized to change any of the fields within the window:
Make any necessary changes and click Save.
The List Agent will receive a notification of the changes the Buyer's Agent has made:
Note: The List Agent does not receive a notification within the Bulletins/Updates widget after the Buyer's Agent updates any of the closing information.
During the Collaborative Closing process, the email notifications go both ways: if the List Agent updates any of the closing information, the Buyer's Agent will receive a notification.

Besides the notification in the Bulletins widget, there are a couple additional ways in which the Buyer's Agent can access the Buyer Close Data form to review the closing information and make any necessary changes.
There is a new Buyer Close Data option in the Add/Edit menu:
Enter the list number and click Submit:
The Buyer's Agent can review the closing information and adjust as necessary:
Click Save when finished.
The List Agent receives an email detailing any changes that were made to the closing information, but there is no notification within their Bulletins/Updates widget after the Buyer's Agent updates any of the closing information.
The Buyer's Agent can also review and adjust closed listing information by going to Add/Edit> View/Manage My Listings and Transactions:
Adjust the drop-down menus in the upper left to look for closed listings within the past month, locate the desired listing and click the pencil iconon the right side of the screen:
Select Buyer Close Data:
