Listing Attribution on IDX sites (for Head Brokers)

*** This article applies to the Head Broker of offices ***

 

If you are the Head Broker of your office/firm and you choose to syndicate your office's listings to IDX sites (agent and brokerage websites), the name of your office and that of the listing agent automatically appear on the listing in compliance with Fair Display guidelines. 

In addition, you must also include a contact phone number or email address for the office and a phone number or email address (or nothing) for the list agent. This process is referred to as listing attribution.

connectMLS provides a tool to manage your office's listing attribution preferences, allowing you to help drive prospective buyers directly to the best point of contact, regardless of where they have seen your listing on the internet.

 

Click your photo/initials in the top right corner of Connect and select My Settings:

Go to the Manage Office section and click Manage Brokerage's Listing Attribution Preferences:

The top section, Office Attribution Contact, allows you to select either your office's phone number or email address for display on your firm's listings on IDX and VOW websites:

Note: Office phone is selected by default. If this is your preference, there is nothing additional you need to do. 

 

The bottom section of the screen, Agent Attribution Contact, gives you the option of setting your agents' attribution contact information yourself, or allowing them to configure it on their own:

To set it yourself, put a dot in the first option (I am responsible for setting preference for all brokerage's listings) and then use the drop-down menu to make your selection:

Note: in addition to the list agent's preferred phone number and email address, you also have the option of None, meaning any interested party who sees the listing on an IDX or VOW website must use either the office's phone number or email address to reach out regarding the property.

Click Save after making your selection.

Your selection will apply to all of your brokerage's listings. If you have multiple offices in your organization, it will apply to all listings within all of your offices.

 

If you prefer to let your agents set the contact information they'd like to appear on their listings on IDX sites (in addition to the office's phone number or email), select the second option (List Agents are responsible for setting preference for their listings) and click Save.

It is then up to your individual agents to set their attribution preference from their own connectMLS account.
