Compensation fields removed from the MLS

In accordance with the NAR Settlement practice changes, compensation information was removed from all active and under contract listings on the MLS on the evening of Thursday, August 15, 2024.

When you are adding or editing a listing, you will notice that several fields have been removed from the Contract tab:

Since buyer agent compensation information can no longer appear anywhere within the MLS, we have completely removed the following fields:

  • Dual/Variable Rate Commission
  • Buyer's Agent Compensation Type
  • Buyer Agent Compensation Amount
  • Compensation Notes

Additionally, there can be no mention of compensation, commission, bonuses, etc. in any of the free text fields (Remarks, Directions, Showing Instructions, etc.).

Buyer Agent Compensation information fields have also been removed the following agent-facing reports:

  • Full Detail
  • Full Detail w/Photos
  • Agent- One Page
  • Agent Full
  • Agent Full- Classic

You are no longer able to add buyer agent compensation information fields to custom reports or exports, nor can you add any compensation-related fields to a search screen.

We have created a flip book that provides more in-depth information and answers to many common questions that have resulted from the NAR settlement.
