Errors on unrelated fields when updating listings

 

When you go to make changes to your listings, including Draft (Incomplete) listings, Connect may flag other, unrelated fields as not being completed correctly or being completely empty. Although these fields are unrelated to the change you set out to do, they must be completed in order to save the listing.

This is happening because some fields are handled a little differently during the Add/Edit process in connectMLS than in Matrix. When a user has entered a specific value in these fields (in many instances it happens when entering Yes in a Yes/No field), it opens one or more additional related fields that must be completed.

The upside of requiring these additional fields is that we're capturing more valuable data on listings that are entered on SmartMLS. This additional listing information will benefit all SmartMLS subscribers, your clients and the entire Connecticut real estate community.

Note: you will experience this when changing the details of your listings, but it should not occur when making status or price changes.

  • Attic YN
    • If Yes is selected, Attic Access and Attic Details are required:
