All auto emails that are created within connectMLS will expire, regardless of whether or not the recipient is actively interacting with them.
The good news is that it is easy to extend an auto email that is about to expire (or has already expired).
In the process of creating an auto email, there is a field that allows you to set its expiration date:
By default, the expiration date is set for the maximum of 180 days from the current date (the auto email in the image above was created on 7/9/25).
If you prefer to set the expiration date yourself, you can use either the calendar icon or the drop-down arrow to select the expiration date from a calendar:
You can also manually enter a date by clicking in the field.
Additionally, you can use the -/+ 30 Days feature (highlighted in pink above) to adjust the expiration date up or back 30 days at a time.
Whichever method you employ, you cannot select an expiration date that is more than 180 days from the current date.
Extending the expiration date on an email that has not expired yet
During the process of setting up an auto email, you can choose to be notified between 1-7 days prior to the expiration. This is a great way to ensure that your clients continue to receive their auto emails without interruption:
Note: Only one notification email is sent through this feature. For instance, if you select 4 days, you will only receive the notification email 4 days before the auto email's expiration date. You will not receive additional notification emails 3, 2 or 1 day(s) prior to the expiration.
Here is an example of the message you will receive when one of your auto emails is about to expire:
Clicking the link brings you to the Searches section of that specific client's dashboard. Locate the expiring auto email that you would like to extendand click the Edit icon:
Scroll down the Save Search screen and use the Expires on field to extend the auto email:
- Use the calendar drop-down menu to select a specific date on which you would like the auto email to expire.
- Use the
buttons to move the expiration date forward/back 30 days at a time.
Click Save Changes when you're done.
You then have the option of continuing to work with this same search or starting a new search:
Extending the expiration date on an email that has expired
If your auto email has expired, you can re-enable it in a matter of moments and get your client's emails flowing once again.
Go to the Prospecting Manager icon:
Use the Saved Search Types drop-down menu in the top left to isolate just the expired auto emails:
Note: auto emails that have expired have a icon in the Status column (on the left side):
Locate the desired email and click the Edit icon on the right side of the screen.
Scroll down to the Automatic Search Status field, put a dot in Enabled and set your new expiration date:
Note: as soon as you change the status from Disabled to Enabled, the expiration date field will automatically update to 180 days from the current date. As is the case when initially creating an auto email, you can manually enter your own expiration date or use the calendar, drop-down menu or -/+ 30 Days feature to set the date.
Click Save Changes when you're done.
